Ciccone Vineyard Wedding | Alex + Katherine
Witnessed by their closest friends and family on a beautiful mid-summer day at Ciccone Vineyard, Alex and Katherine were married by their friend and principal of the school where they both met as teachers. At the end of their vows, they released two beautiful monarch butterflies who gently flew off into the open sky of Ciccone. Later in the day we discovered even more monarchs around the property, hanging out about the vines and grapes–a special ode to Alex and Katherine’s love of butterflies.
Everything about Alex and Katherine on their wedding day radiated with joy.

We have loved getting to know these two and their story over the course of time–from our initial call to their engagement session and finally to their wedding day–we feel very honored to have been witness to a small part in Alex and Katherine’s beautiful love story.

Port Oneida Family Portraits
When Lindsay reached out the following year to book a family portrait session, we were ecstatic. We were so excited to see the family again and capture their fun personalities together. We spent an evening around Port Oneida and on the beach catching up with them and photographing their sweet interactions. We have so much love for this family and can’t wait for the next occasion when we can photograph them again!
To have the opportunity to capture this family not once, not twice, but THREE times has been a true honor. But let’s rewind for a minute to give a little back story.
Mark and Lindsay reached out to us regarding their September 2022 wedding at The Peninsula Room. They had grown up in the same small town, even worked together for a while, before losing touch after college. Years and years down the road, Mark and Lindsay met up again and started the sweetest relationship together. When they booked with us for their wedding, we knew we wanted to do an engagement session for them that would also include a few family photos with Lindsay’s children. Wandering out on a blustery February day in 2022, we did just that for a winter engagement shoot. Finally their wedding day was a gorgeous late summer day and even the wild wind off the water could not stop the joy these two had about marrying each other. Lindsay’s children stood with them at the altar supporting the two of them every step of the way.

Lee + Sammie | Port Oneida Engagement
Being with Lee and Sammie felt so calm and peaceful. The way these two love is BIG. From Lee’s adoring eyes to Sammie’s radiant smile, it felt like such a privilege to document the two of them together. You can tell they truly settle into the best versions of themselves by being with each other.
From wildflower meadows, to golden fields, and finally to a hazy sky reflected in Lake Michigan. This was the scene set for Lee and Sammie’s engagement session at Port Oneida. We had the whole area to ourselves as we witnessed the sweetest storybook moments unfold. Being with Lee and Sammie felt so calm and peaceful. The way these two love is BIG. You can tell they truly settle into the best versions of themselves by being with each other. It was evident in their genuine and playful interactions—whispering jokes into each other’s ears, dancing about in the depths of the wildflowers, and kicking sand beneath their feet as they ran along the beach before finally dipping their toes in the cool of Lake Michigan.
Shroyer Family | Glen Arbor
It’s one of our favorite things when we can capture family portraits in a natural environment. For the Shroyer family, that was wandering downtown Glen Arbor and their cottage on Crystal River. It was a joy to document their genuine reactions, from laughter, to the siblings teasing one another, races to the bottom of the hill, and ending the night in swimsuits so they could jump in the water and see who could splash each another the most.

Sean + Bridgette | Port Oneida Sunset Engagement
It is always a true joy to spend golden hour in the serene landscapes of Port Oneida, but it was made even sweeter this evening when we were joined by Sean and Bridgette. Sean and Bridgette’s engagement portraits felt straight out of a movie. They meandered through fields of the daintiest wildflowers, sunshine peeking in and out of the clouds while we photographed their sweet interactions—playful and giggling.

It was such a beautiful glimpse into their love story as we witnessed the way these two looked at, talked to, and loved one another. We feel so honored to capture these precious moments.

With Blue Angel Jets flying overhead for the airshow during cherry festival, Joel and Emily got ready at their respective locations on site. The orchards of Bayview Weddings at Gallagher Farms boasted of red ripe cherries. It was here amongst the trees that Emily approached her father for their first look and again once more amongst the cherries to meet her Groom for their intimate first look and private vows. After their emotional vows, Emily got ready for another very special first look—this time with their dog, Finley. Finley also played the very important role of ring bearer and when the time approached, he raced down the ceremony aisle to Joel and Emily. They exchanged rings overlooking the stunning Lake Michigan view and eventually made their way back to the open lawn and tented reception area to continue the festivities with their friends and family.
