Sean + Bridgette | Port Oneida Sunset Engagement
It is always a true joy to spend golden hour in the serene landscapes of Port Oneida, but it was made even sweeter this evening when we were joined by Sean and Bridgette. Sean and Bridgette’s engagement portraits felt straight out of a movie. They meandered through fields of the daintiest wildflowers, sunshine peeking in and out of the clouds while we photographed their sweet interactions—playful and giggling.

Sean and Bridgette’s engagement portraits felt straight out of a movie. They meandered through fields of the daintiest wildflowers, sunshine peeking in and out of the clouds while we photographed their sweet interactions—playful and giggling. As the sun sank lower in the hazy sky, the landscape was bathed in golden mid-summer light. Sean and Bridgette walked slowly through the fields, hand in hand, admiring the views and dreaming of the rest of their lives together. It was such a beautiful glimpse into their love story as we witnessed the way these two looked at, talked to, and loved one another. We feel so honored to capture these precious moments.
Joel + Emily | Bayview Weddings
Joel and Emily were married in the prime of the Northern Michigan summer season. With Blue Angel Jets flying overhead for the airshow during cherry festival, Joel and Emily got ready at their respective locations on site. The orchards of Bayview Weddings at Gallagher Farms boasted of red ripe cherries.
It was here amongst the trees that Emily approached her father for their first look and again once more amongst the cherries to meet her Groom for their intimate first look and private vows. After their emotional vows, Emily got ready for another very special first look—this time with their dog, Finley. Finley also played the very important role of ring bearer and when the time approached, he raced down the ceremony aisle to Joel and Emily. They exchanged rings overlooking the stunning Lake Michigan view and eventually made their way back to the open lawn and tented reception area to continue the festivities with their friends and family.

Jordan + Paige | Ciccone Vineyard Wedding
Set at Ciccone Vineyard, rows and rows of vines stretched on against the stunning Lake Michigan view. Jordan and Paige’s romantic and colorful details were vibrant against the cool green of the vineyard all around. In the midst of the most beautiful whimsical floral arbor, Jordan eagerly awaited his ethereal bride Paige as she made her way down the aisle. It is no exaggeration to say that Paige absolutely took our breath away.
From the very beginning, it was clear that Paige and I were kindred spirits. With our mutual love for all things whimsical, romantic, and floral, we knew it would be a good fit when they reached out for us to photograph their wedding. Besides chatting and sharing pretty wedding details and ideas prior to their day, we also met up with Jordan and Paige for the epitome of a dream engagement session at Port Oneida. After that evening, we knew their wedding day would be even dreamier. A little under a year later, we were excitedly making our drive out to Suttons Bay for Jordan and Paige’s wedding. “We always said that our wedding won't only be a celebration of our love, but a celebration of all the hard work that has gone into our relationship-especially during those long distance days”
And a celebration it was! Jordan and Paige’s relationship is one to behold. From emotional vows to Jordan always finding a way to make Paige giggle, these two compliment and make each other better. They handled every curve ball that came flying their way (ahem pizza for dinner was not the original plan) with humor and grace. In the end, they really embraced the idea of ‘celebrating’ their love and relationship regardless of what may happen. Every single one of their guests also held that same sentiment, so you can imagine the fun party that lasted into the night.
Congratulations Jordan and Paige. It was a true honor to capture you two from your engagement photos to your wedding day! We feel like we have made forever friends of you both and look forward to the next time we can all catch up.

Joel + Emily | Traverse City Engagement
It was a beautiful Memorial Day weekend when we met up with Joel and Emily in Traverse City for their engagement photos. They brought along their dog, Finley to join in the fun. We walked around the trails at Olsen Bridge, played fetch with Finley, and found the prettiest bush absolutely overflowing with lilacs.

Phil + Hannah | Backyard Wedding
We got the chance to get to know Phil during their engagement session the previous year out at Port Oneida. It was clear that the two of them belonged together. You could see how sweet they were to one another and in general encouraged each other to be the best version of themselves.
Hannah and I went to youth group growing up together. We connected on bus rides to and from youth camps talking about life, boys, etc. When Hannah reached out to us to photograph her wedding it felt like such a full circle moment. It was a joy to meet them at Hannah’s family home for their wedding celebrations. Their ceremony was setup in the backyard overlooking a spectacular view. To add to the specialness of the day, Phil and Hannah were married by our old youth pastor. They were surrounded and supported by all the special people in their lives and they said their vows and committed the rest of their lives to one another.
Congratulations to Phil and Hannah. We are looking forward to seeing where life takes you!

Scott + Jackie Wedding | The Ridge at Verterra | Northport
The scene was set. Bright blue skies against the dark blue Lake Michigan backdrop. The Ridge at Verterra was the perfect venue to showcase that Northern Michigan beauty that Scott and Jackie wanted to highlight on their wedding day. For their vows, Scott and Jackie met on the lawn in front of the serene pond with their guests in amphitheater seating to witness the scene unfold.
Immediately after the ceremony, Scott and Jackie snuck off to the shade to enjoy a few moments to themselves and soak in all the little joys of the day. There they were met with their choice drinks before Jackie shared a little secret she had been keeping—
She had hired a hot air balloon for their reception to surprise Scott!
Later on in the night, Miles went up in the basket with the two of them as they ascended high above the venue to take in the spectacular views. As the rest of the evening went on, their guests took turns riding up in the balloon themselves. Finally as the sun set below the horizon and painted everything a vibrant orange, Scott and Jackie took to the patio for their first dance with a hot air balloon backdrop.
Everything about this wedding screamed Scott and Jackie, from their spunky adventurous personalities to the wild creativity (ahem Scott building the photo wall HIMSELF) to the bright colors and scenic setting. We had so much fun with these two and were honored to photograph a few parts of their love story for both their engagement and wedding.
Congratulations once again to THE COOPERS!
