It was a beautiful Memorial Day weekend when we met up with Joel and Emily in Traverse City for their engagement photos. They brought along their dog, Finley to join in the fun. We walked around the trails at Olsen Bridge, played fetch with Finley, and found the prettiest bush absolutely overflowing with lilacs.

We enjoyed our time getting to know Joel and Emily and their story as we looked forward to their wedding the following month.
Connor + Christine Engagement | Maple Bay Natural Area
It was a crisp spring evening when we met up with Connor and Christine for the first time at Maple Bay Natural Area for their engagement photos. Despite the chilly bite in the air, Connor and Christine embraced the night and kept each other close for warmth. We meandered through the fields and woods before finally ending on the beach.

The faintest glow from the sun attempted to peak through the clouds as Connor and Christine held each other, listening to the peaceful sound of small waves lapping the shoreline.
Brady + Alexa | Romantic Traverse City Engagement
Photographing these two and their love together felt straight out of a movie. With the sun flare and slow motion, passionate kisses, this engagement session had our romantic hearts a-fluttering. It was a joy to capture this small part in Brady and Alexa’s love story.
I (Sarah) went to school with Alexa growing up so I was absolutely overjoyed to see her name pop up in our inbox inquiring about engagement photos. We spent golden hour wandering around the most beautiful areas in Brown Bridge Quiet Area. Photographing these two and their love together felt straight out of a movie. Jordan and Paige’s wildflower engagement is hands down one of our top five favorite engagement photo shoots. From the dreamy wildflowers to the romantic picnic (complete with wine from their winery wedding venue), to the glowing sunset on the beach—it was nothing less than THE perfect spring day. You would never even guess that when we first arrived to Port Oneida the sky was dark and cloudy and it had started to drizzle. These two were willing to brave the weather and we were thankfully met with only the slightest rainy mist. It felt like a movie as Jordan and Paige traipsed through the prettiest wildflower fields hand in hand. Our hearts were so full to photograph the love between these two and we are counting down the days until we can celebrate with them on their wedding day.
Scott + Jackie Engagement | Old Mission Lighthouse Park
The day of Scott and Jackie's scheduled engagement session came with a questionable forecast. Rain was predicted during the time we were supposed to be photographing. We chatted back and forth and decided to just go for it! It was quite the moody scene as the wall of dark clouds slowly made their way closer and closer. Thankfully we snuck in some beautiful photos and finished just before the rain fell.

We met them out at the Old Mission Lighthouse Park for their photos. There is such a variety of beautiful backdrops at the park--we started in the woods and followed the trail for some photos in front of the lighthouse and along the beach where we could see the rain along the horizon. It was quite the moody scene as the wall of dark clouds slowly made their way closer and closer. Thankfully we snuck in some beautiful photos and finished just before the rain fell.
We can't wait to celebrate and photograph Scott and Jackie's wedding this May!

We stopped here and there amidst the trees and stood back to capture Alec and Audrey's interactions. We had the sweetest time laughing with them and getting to know them. We loved capturing their engagement and wedding (which will also be coming to the blog at some point!). Congratulations Alec + Audrey!
